We are dedicated to serving children who are victims of abuse through prevention education and intervention.  We help victims become children again and lead normal, healthy, productive lives, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County, Inc. carries out this mission by:

  • Conducting the initial investigative interview in a non-threatening environment, thus eliminating the need for repeated interviews by various people.
  • Providing counseling to the abused child and his or her non-offending family.
  • Providing medical examinations by doctors and pediatric nurse practitioners especially trained in working with the issue of sexual abuse.
  • Preparing children for the courtroom experience if the child must testify in a trial.
  • Offering expert testimony at trial.
  • Providing prevention education to schools, youth groups, religious organizations and other community groups.
  • Providing consultation and technical assistance in collaboration with the Tennessee Network of Children’s Advocacy Centers, for communities wishing to establish similar centers.
  • Collecting data for use in research and prevention.
  • Providing training and educational opportunities for professionals working with children and abuse issues.
