There are two types of volunteers with the CACHC. There are Contact volunteers who work directly with children and confidential information. Those volunteers need to complete all the steps below. There are also Non-Contact volunteers who do not have contact with children or client information. These volunteers help with our special events and with other administrative tasks.

Steps to Volunteering:

  1. Fill out a volunteer form!
  2. Schedule an interview with the Director of External Affairs.
  3. Fill out the appropriate background check paperwork. This includes a criminal background check, fingerprinting and reference checks.
  4. Attend eight hour manditory training. This happens about once a quarter (September, February, June).
  5. Select preferance & start volunteering!

For all of the contact volunteer positions applicants must be over 18 years of age.

There are a lot of different ways to work with the CACHC!! Below are some of the opportunities if you would like to join our team!!

Family Room Volunteers

CACHC is the beginning of a child's good story and a friendly face in the Family Room is a part of that.

Duties include but are not limited to: welcoming families, entertaining children and siblings in the waiting area, assisting parents with paperwork, assisting with snacks, helping children pick out stuffed animals to take home, straightening up waiting room area, and providing guests with general assistance.

This position is for a contact volunteer.  

Clerical Volunteer

Providing support to CACHC team is a huge help. Intervention and prevention staff often need help making copies, compiling packets, organizing files and literature, and preparing bulk mailings.

This position can be filled by a contact or non contact volunteer.

Prevention Education Volunteer

Do you enjoy public speaking or education? The CACHC works with adults and youth in the community and provides education and outreach. The education portions are to professionals in the community about child abuse prevention. The youth programs include body safety classroom presentations.

Prevention Education volunteers may also be asked to staff tables at health fairs or represent the agency at community outreach activities.

This position is for a contact volunteer.

Special Event Volunteer

Concerts, 5K runs and awards ceremonies are just some of the events that the CACHC puts on. 

Volunteers are needed for all aspects of planning and executing the events. Visit the events tab for more info on upcoming events!

This position is for both contact and non contact volunteers.

If working with clients or events are not your cup of tea there are different activities community members can do for the CACHC:

We always need the following items. You and your group can do a drive for:

  • New Stuffed Animals
  • Basic Office Supplies (legal pads, copy paper, pens, staples, tape, etc.)
  • New Toys & Books for Children’s Waiting Area
  • Or visit our Amazon Wishlist for more ideas
