Child or Family Companion
Greet and informally visit with children and adults while creating a safe and child friendly environment as families wait for medical exams, interviews, or counseling sessions.
Duties include but are not limited to: welcoming families, entertaining children and siblings in the waiting area, assisting parents with paperwork, assisting with snacks, helping children pick out stuffed animals to take home, straightening up waiting room area, and providing guests with general assistance, answering phones, general administration tasks, and helping in completion of intake forms, and assist in waiting area.
Position Requirements: 18 years of age or older, completed volunteer application, volunteer interview, criminal background check, reference check, agency orientation and agency provided training. Request volunteers commit to at least one year of service, additional training required for each year of service. TOP
Clerical Volunteer
Duties include: making copies, compiling packets, organizing files and literature, and preparing bulk mailings.
Position requirements: completed volunteer application, volunteer interview, reference check, agency orientation, and agency provided training.
Availability: normal business hours and upon advance notice of special projects TOP
Maintenance Volunteer
Duties include: General housekeeping duties, seasonal projects, ground maintenance, and possibly household repairs (if skilled). This is a good opportunity for high school groups, work or church groups, interested in community involvement.
Position requirements: basic home-maintenance experience, completed individual or group volunteer application, reference check, pre-service orientation.

Prevention Education Assistant/Exhibitor
Duties include: Educating the public about the Children’s Advocacy Center at various health and community fairs, volunteer recruitment at fairs, some possible speaking engagements, organize volunteer and agency materials and promotional items.
Position Requirements: outgoing personality, valid driver’s license and transportation, completed volunteer application, volunteer interview, reference check, agency orientation and agency provided training.
Availability: Fairs are held at various times and volunteers will be called to participate as the need arises. TOP
Special Event / Fundraising Volunteer
Duties include: pre-event planning and preparations, participation in various aspects of special events, serving on event committees.
Position requirements: complete various applications, reference check, agency orientation, pre-event training, and experience in special events or public relations preferred.
Availability: Events are held at various times and volunteers will be called to participate as the need arises. TOP
