BACKGROUND

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County, Inc. was established as a private, non-profit agency in 1991.

The Center’s mission is to serve children who are victims of abuse through prevention, education and intervention.  We help victims become children again and lead normal, healthy, productive lives, thereby breaking the cycle of abuse.

The Center provides evaluation and treatment for abused children and their non-offending families. Our trained and certified staff provides, free of charge:

  • Forensic interviews

  • Extended assessments

  • Counseling

  • Forensic Medical Examinations

  • Coordination of the various public agencies involved with the child’s case.

Our focus is on the treatment and support for the child and their non-offending families, rather than focusing on the crime.

In 1995, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County, Inc. became a full member of the National Network of Children’s Advocacy Center.   It now stands as one of almost three hundred nationwide providing similar services for abused children.   In 1996 the CAC was honored by the NASW as “Agency of the Year.”
